I love my food and drink and am a keen cook, baker and occasional homebrewer.

I've often been complimented on my cooking and more than once I've been told that I should become a chef. Instead, I decided I'd start writing this Blog to indulge my interest in food and drink and share some of my favourite recipes.

I'm a father of two girls living in York with a Vegetarian partner which definitely influences the type of food I make. Making dinner to suit everyone's tastes can sometimes be tricky. I have had no formal training (except for one day with Rosemary Shrager) but started learning to cook at a young age with my Mum. Like many kids I used to loiter around the kitchen when she baked hoping for any extra morsels.

I like to make most things from scratch so I know what is going into my food and to keep the costs down. I tend to make hearty and tasty family meals that don't break the bank. My style is definitely more rustic than fine dining.
